Master Thesis

In the winter term 2021/2022, the House of Finance-Chair for Sustainable Asset Management will not supervise any master theses.

 

Chair selection
To write you master thesis at the House of Finance Chair of Sustainable Asset Management you have to participate in the application procedure of the Finance Department. Please see the webpage of the Finance Department for further information and the application form.

Topics
Currently, the House of Finance Chair of Sustainable Asset Management offers master thesis topics in four fields: asset management, information disclosure by firms and information demand by investors, empirical asset pricing, and textual analysis. All topics have an empirical part in which students should statistically analyze data to test their hypotheses.

In general, the individual topics will be assigned based on students’ preferences. If multiple students indicate that they would like to work on a given topic it will be assigned randomly.

Prerequisites
Students should have good knowledge in finance, econometrics and statistics. It is not required to have worked with statistic software packages like Stata before. However, having such experience will be helpful. To make it easier for students to start their empirical work the chair will provide introductory materials on Stata.
