Letters of Recommendation

In order to receive a letter of recommendation, you must have attended a course and/or written a thesis with Prof. Dr. Gründl (final grade of 1.7 or better).

Please be sure to submit the documents required for the issuance of a letter of recommendation in good time, i.e., at least 4 weeks before you need the letter. Please note that availability may be limited during the semester break.

Required documents:

  • Tabular curriculum vitae
  • Proof of the points listed in the curriculum vitae (please collect in one file)
  • Proof of academic achievements and examinations
  • Letter of motivation (max. 1 DIN A4 page)

Required information (please provide the following details in a short cover letter):

  • Name, date of birth, place of birth, degree program, semester, student ID number
  • By when does the reference need to be completed?
  • Who is the reference addressed to? (e.g., Harvard University, DAAD, Studienstiftung, etc.)
  • How will the reference be sent to the recipient? (directly to the institution itself, via the student)
  • Are there any specific formal requirements? (please fill out any existing forms and send them along with your application, if possible)
  • In which language should the reference be written? (English or German)

Please send all of your documents in one email to Prof. Dr. Helmut Gründl at professur-gruendl[at]finance.uni-frankfurt[dot]de. You will then receive a response, possibly along with an invitation to a personal interview.
