Andreas Hackethal has been Professor of Finance at the House of Finance at Frankfurt's Goethe University since 2008. He was Dean of the Department of Economics from 2011 to 2015 and then Dean of Studies until 2020. He heads the Pension Finance Lab at the Leibniz Institute SAFE, is co-director of the Center for Financial Studies and co-director of efl - The Data Science Institute. His research focuses empirically on the financial decisions of private households, the role of financial advice and the digitalization of the financial sector. He is the chairman of the BaFin Advisory Board, a member of the "financial centre" task force in Frankfurt and he is frequently advising the WEF and the European Commission. He and his team have developed Seasn, an innovative app for better financial education and planning.
